Ethnomethodology

Ethnomethodology is a perspective and research approach that focuses on understanding the ways people create and maintain the social order in their every day lives. This approach was developed by an American sociologist Harold Garfinkel in 1960s 
At this core ethnomethodology emphasizes the importance of examining the methods and practices individuals to use interpret and make sense of the world around them  it aims to uncover the implicit rules and norms that guide social interactions, often taken for granted by people in their daily lives.
